Updates Deployed!

If you’re a frequent mostyle user, or just having a browse around, you will have noticed our cool new splash page!

splash page

Previously users had access straight onto the mobile portal, and although this made it quick and easy for log in access, the mobile portal page may have been confusing for users not accustom to what mostyle is. Therefore, it was decided that we would introduce a splash page.

The purpose of the splash page is for users to get a quick summary about what they can do on mostyle, and click a path to follow; onto the mobile site, or onto the website!

The splash page aims to draw attention to the great features offered by mostyle; that you can ‘catch up with friends on mobile’; and that you can ‘create a world for your mobile’, emphasizing the networking and publishing aspects of the mostyle service.

On the mobile site you will also notice a few new changes, we have replaced the MMS upload button, with photo upload and video upload links. These links take users to a help page which has instructions regarding how to upload from your mobile phone.

To use these functions, users need to be able to access and send emails, and have MMS upload capabilities. Also, while the 3G network finding its footing, the image upload takes about an hour to get uploaded, but that’s dependant on the server and how much traffic it is receiving. If you upload an image, or video for a that matter, and it doesn’t work, please send an email through to support and we’ll try to fix it up, we’re testing, testing, testing as much as we can, but sometimes problems pop up.

Also you might notice notification emails popping into your inbox. This is just a way to let you know if a friend has sent you a mail, a shoutout or if there are notifications waiting for you. We realize life is busy, so this is just a way for us to keep you in the loop!

If you’re not interested in receiving these notifications, and would rather be surprised by mail when you log into mostyle, just go into ‘change my settings’ on the mobile site, and uncheck the ‘notify me by email’ button under the privacy settings!

And finally, we are hoping to introduce a new web page and a new site edit page. These are all in the pipe-work and being refined more and more each day, so have a look out for them in the coming weeks.
